Head Stockperson

Harvest Road is currently seeking an energetic, experienced Head Stockperson. The position would be based at Minderoo Station in the Pilbara WA, however, travel to all Harvest Road stations with the Stockcamp. The business looks to develop key employees, such as Head Stockperson through additional training opportunities.

This role would suit someone who is self-motivated and willing to lead staff by example through a strong work ethic and respect for others, whilst achieving company goals and objectives to a high standard.

The successful candidate will gain exposure and/or experience in different aspects of the business such as the multiplier herd program, backgrounding and feedlot operations, building and working in state of the art yard facilities, horse breeding and fodder production.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate commitment to safe working practises and animal welfare at all times
  • Lead a stockcamp of 7-8 members, guiding them through horse and cattle husbandry practises, fencing, machinery and infrastructure maintenance
  • Record and communicate necessary livestock data in an accurate and legible manner
  • Lead by example both in and out of the workplace
  • Work closely with the management team to ensure all requirements are met

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong focus on safety and animal welfare
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Truck license
  • Proficient in handling both horses and bikes
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording data
  • Base Mechanical knowledge
  • Initiative and Problem-solving skills
  • Motivated and hard-working, willing to be part of the Minderoo team culture
  • Pass a National Police Clearance and pre-employment medical assessment

Desired criteria:

  • HC or MC license

Station Hands

Harvest Road is currently recruiting energetic Station Hands for the 2020 Season, from February/March to mid-December 2020. The positions will be based on Minderoo and Uaroo Stations, Pilbara WA, however traveling together as a Stockcamp to complete mustering requirements throughout all Harvest Road Stations.

This role would suit someone who is willing to learn and build a career, with a strong work ethic and passion to contribute towards and learn about the Northern Beef industry.

The successful candidate will become an integral part of a progressive business, with a strong commitment to Australian Agriculture.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate commitment to safe working practises and animal welfare at all times
  • Carry out horse and cattle husbandry practises, fencing, machinery and infrastructure maintenance, and machinery operation
  • Adhere to the guidance of the head stockperson and station management staff

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong focus on safety and animal welfare
  • Experience with handling livestock
  • Manual drivers license
  • Able to proficiently handle a horse and/or bike
  • Motivated and hard-working, willing to be part of the Minderoo team culture
  • Pass a National Police Clearance and pre-employment medical assessment
  • Possess sufficient fitness level to carry out required tasks

Desired criteria:

  • Previous experience on Northern cattle stations

Housekeeper 

Minderoo Station are currently seeking an enthusiastic housekeeper, with an appreciation for rural and remote living to join our tight knit team. The position would be required to fulfil a broad array of domestic duties for all accommodation and communal areas within the Minderoo Station building portfolio.

The successful candidate will become an integral part of a progressive organisation, with exposure to a wide array of experiences through the role, and opportunities to advance within the business for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate commitment to safe working practices at all times
  • Clean all accommodation within the station portfolio both independently and as part of the housekeeping team, ensuring areas are maintained and inspected to the highest standard
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishing needs as required
  • Assist with preparation and facilitation of VIP and owner visits to the station
  • Provide support to meet additional requirements when Homestead and accommodation is occupied

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong Integrity, discretion and honesty
  • Motivated and hard-working, willing to be part of the Minderoo team culture and go above and beyond to meet targets where necessary
  • Strong attention to detail and suitable personal presentation
  • Ability to work autonomously unsupervised and as part of a team, managing time effectively
  • Sufficient fitness level to carry out required tasks
  • Pass a National Police Clearance and pre-employment medical assessment

Desired criteria:

  • Previous cleaning experience
